2009 HD Boutique Exposition & Conference Recap

The 2009 HD Boutique Exposition & Conference was held in the heart of South Florida at the Miami Beach Convention Center on Sept. 14 and 15. Now in its 7th edition, the cutting-edge two day design event was well attended and the crowd was very energetic. More than 600 manufacturers showcased their latest designs and introduced hundreds of new products.  

A guest attendee Mr. Dan Reinert, VP of Sales & Marketing for Mr.Steam said “I would highly recommend that we do this show next year.” This was definitely the feeling K&A observed from everyone.

So what was new? Of all the amazing flooring, bedding, art décor and outdoor products, Kleber & Associates revealed their most notable finds to include:

Maya Romanoff – won “best in show” this year at HD Boutique. Maya Romanoff’s wall surface materials are amazing, and the most popular product was the new Meditations Collection from Tibet.

MAAX – unveiled a MAAX Collection exclusive, the Viaggi bathtub with is noble and contemporary geometric lines, translating into a unique design. A show stopper!

Baldwin Hardware Corporation – the company was eager to present again in the hospitality industry and had great show presence. Baldwin showcased a super high-end door hardware called Estate.

Seabrook Contract – displayed YorkGuard - a new anti-microbial wall covering protection that gives a wall a protective shell again mold, mildew, bacteria and odor causing germs.

EcoSmart Fire – environmentally-friendly manufacturer who debut its EcoSmart Burner featuring a number of different burner kits that can be customized.

The Studio Art - the ultra-hip booth had vibrant art on display unveiling the industry’s latest design trends. Based in California, Studio Art will definitely be a niche in the industry.

Bluworld “world of water” – innovative exhibitor offering water sculptures that are available for many hospitality applications including spas, staircases, fountains, restaurants.

During the show, K&A not only had the chance to review and observe hundreds of new products but we also had the chance to meet with various magazines and editors from Lodging, Hotel Business, AAHOA Lodging Business and Hospitality Design. We learned that the industry continues to flourish and more hotel and re-design projects are occurring. In closing, we were happy to have had the opportunity to attend HD Boutique and we plan to attend for years to come.
