What’s New From Kleber & Associates


Pacific Coast Builders Conference

K&A was excited to be in San Francisco last week to celebrate PCBC’s 50th anniversary. With brisk traffic and an upbeat mood, much of the talk focused on the recent government reports of housing starts rising over 17% in May. With a comeback in sight, many homebuilders have adopted remodeling postures to keep their shovels in the ground.

On the show floor, a few industry giants were strong in representation; however, most of the booths were smaller with an emphasis on vital innovation and green issues. K&A was especially impressed with Kleer Lumber’s trimboards and Isokern outdoor fireplaces.

Southern Building Show & Conference

Representatives from all over the country came to this year’s show to learn about the latest building products. The common trend was energy-efficiency and green products. In an effort to showcase these environmentally-friendly companies, the exhibit hall featured a special Green Building Aisle. Check out our Tumblr stream to view images from the show. The educational seminars were also a big hit; there were nearly 40 topics to choose from, given by the country’s leading experts.

K&A’s own Steve Kleber shined at this year’s Southern Building Show & Conference where he was the featured speaker at two conference sessions including “Eco-Friendly Building Trends and How You can Sell and Market the Value of ‘Green’” as well as “Marketing in a ‘Low’ Time: Smarter marketing is the key to growing your business during difficult times.”

Hospitality Design Exposition and Conference

With over 11,000 attendees and 1,200 exhibitors there were many opportunities to learn, network and share ideas about the industry. Staying engaged during the tradeshow’s three-day conference was an easy task engaging in events such as the Green Luncheon and Platinum Circle Gala. The Party by the Pool was one of the most talked about events at the show, as people had a chance to unwind with great music and cocktails as well as of course networking.

While visiting with dozens of companies on the HD show floor, K&A believed the most exciting booths included SEURA, SOSS, Peachtree Lighting, Top Knobs and Gerber Plumbing Fixtures.

Kitchen & Bath Industry Show

This year, K&A had the exciting opportunity to be backpack journalists and provided up-to-the-minute tweets, videos and photos about the most innovative products, trends and must-haves from the kitchen and bath industry’s most coveted tradeshow floor. Our new K&A Bureau Team provided commentary directly from the show floor via a live Tumblr stream that was promoted to attendees, exhibitors and editors alike. Even those unable to attend the show were able to see the event unfold, catch up on what they were missing and still be in-the-know for the after-show discussions.

Our K&A Editorial Luncheon was a huge success! It was the perfect opportunity for our PR team to meet face to face with many of the editors they will be pitching. The editors also appreciated a chance to rest and eat while still being able to view new products and pick-up press kits. Held in a private room at Dantanna’s, more than 40 individuals attended including the industry’s most prominent editors, reporters and freelancers from some of our favorite publications including Kitchen & Bath Design News, Kitchen + Bath Business, Traditional Home, Consumer Reports, Professional Builder and Greenbuilder were in attendance. Also, we were thrilled that Robin Wilson of Robin Wilson Home could join us for the majority of the luncheon.

Kleber Makes News

Our team is excited to announce two new client partnerships in the home and building channel. K&A will head up a strategic public relations program for Century Architectural Specialties and a multi-channel trade and consumer advertising campaign for Basco Shower Enclosures. The announcement has been featured in Atlanta Business Chronicle, O’Dwyers PR Newsletter, Atlanta Daybook Dayblog and Bulldog Reporter’s Daily Dog.

K&A also launches a new Social Media Department. This dedicated group was created to help accelerate existing clients’ marketing success and provide extensive web-based marketing programs to new clients. “Although we’ve provided social media marketing services for quite some time, it’s imperative to have a dedicated group of marketing professionals that can offer our clients a seamless integration of social media marketing into more ‘traditional’ marketing campaigns,” said Steve Kleber, president and founder of K&A.
