BOISE, Idaho – Boise Cascade Company (Boise Cascade) (NYSE: BCC) announced today that David Weekley Homes honored Boise Cascade® for the 12th time with the prestigious Partners of Choice Award.

The largest privately held U.S. home builder, David Weekley Homes (DWH), has conducted its 14th annual Supply Evaluation Platform survey to recognize an optimum combination of quality and service in every aspect of their partners’ offerings. In fact, this rigorous evaluation program distinguishes only 12.5 percent of some 200 suppliers with an award-winning score. The methodology employed includes a comprehensive survey completed by approximately 1,000 DWH team members and the evaluation is designed as a quantifiable measurement of world-class excellence. The resulting scoring system is leveraged to identify the “great” from the merely “good,” as partners with a score below the established threshold will be required to demonstrate actionable improvements within a defined period to remain a DWH partner.

According to Bill Justus, Vice President of DWH Supply Chain Services, and primary catalyst behind the homebuilder’s acclaimed evaluation system, “Our goal is to encourage a continuous improvement process for all of our suppliers. We are not concerned about promises; we evaluate on performance – you can’t talk your way into a good score.”

With such demanding criteria, it is extraordinary that Boise Cascade has received such high scores over the last 14 years and significant factors have helped maintain this coveted status. The Wood Products Division lives by their mantra of being faster, stronger and easier. In addition to providing high-quality products, Boise Cascade also invests heavily in supply chain innovation. When other companies held back on investments during the recession, Boise Cascade demonstrated its commitment to the industry by purchasing new facilities to ensure their supply chain remains nimble to accommodate ever-changing building demands and industry fluctuations.

It’s equally important that Boise Cascade is consistently recognized for its user-friendly tools for architects, engineers, distributors and dealers. BC Connect® software is a cloud-based hub that encompasses multiple business and software applications. This digital toolbox is an asset for Boise Cascade dealers who depend on performance from engineered wood products (EWP), providing end-to-end management which includes design, inventory, operations and reporting. Boise Cascade’s digital ecosystem includes BC Calc® sizing software, which helps designers determine the optimal structural members to meet code requirements while providing cost-efficient solutions. As part of the BC Framer® family, BC FloorValue® analysis tool provides predictive analytics that proactively identifies potential floor design issues in pre-construction, helping to eliminate problem floors.

Chris Reiten, Director of EWP Sales at Boise Cascade, is proud of the “Partners of Choice” Award from David Weekley Homes and the Boise Cascade brand promise, “We don’t ever want to rest on our laurels. We want to provide the best experience possible to our customers. Of course, we begin with first-rate building products designed for performance and ease of installation. We also work hard to form strong partnerships with distributors and lumber dealers, and support them every day. This award is a clear acknowledgment that we are most successful when the entire supply chain works together.”
