The 2019 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo was held in Atlanta last week, attracting 20,000 attendees from the U.S. and abroad. Focused on “A New Living Standard,” the conference included four days of networking, educational sessions and green building tours, along with keynote addresses delivered by visionary leaders such as Dr. Bernice King and an opening day conversation with former President Barack Obama. The education program featured more than 200 offerings on building products and industry trends, including applied learning labs and education sessions held on the show floor.

Over 250 manufacturers participated in the expo, exhibiting a wide array of green products and technology solutions. Health and wellness – in particular, indoor air quality – was a central focus as was sustainability, smart energy, building performance and the repurposing of existing materials into novel products and materials. The K&A team participated at the annual event, exploring the most innovative brand offerings, and was particularly impressed with the forward-thinking approaches to green building that we encountered this year.
