DRAPER, Utah (February 17, 2026) — HydroBlok, a building materials company focused on simplifying exterior wall construction through integrated systems that reduce labor, risk and complexity, will feature HB One Backer CI at the 2026 International Builders’ Show.

In the past, exterior wall assemblies often depended on multiple layers and handoffs — increasing the chance for schedule friction, rework and inconsistent field execution. HB One Backer CI is designed to help construction teams reduce layers and streamline installation sequencing by combining key assembly functions into a single, integrated system.

“Construction teams don’t need more complexity to manage — they need an exterior assembly that installs cleanly and performs predictably,” said Alex Gillespie, chief product officer at HydroBlok. “HB One Backer CI was engineered as a system approach that reduces coordination points and supports consistent results in the field,” Gillespie continued. “Especially when schedules are tight and crews are stretched,” he added.

HB One Backer CI is built around the needs of the one-coat stucco and exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS) markets, where moisture management and thermal consistency play an outsized role in long-term construction performance. The system delivers a 4-in-1 approach by combining a secondary water-resistive barrier (WRB), insulation, lath and scratch coat into a single board to streamline sequencing and reduce layers in stucco and stone assemblies. The system is offered in panel formats, including 4-foot-by-8-foot sizes, with thickness options that support continuous insulation strategies.

“The HydroBlok vision is advancing a simpler, more repeatable way to build — one that supports the next generation of craftsmanship – and lowers the friction that slows down crews,” explained Colin House, CEO of HydroBlok. “Our focus is helping construction teams build faster, safer and more predictably by reducing layers and making performance easier to execute in the field,” House added.

HydroBlok panels are evaluated under ICC-ES Report ESR-5559 for structural performance, weather resistance, water drainage, surface-burning characteristics and fire-resistance-rated construction. The report describes the panels as having an XPS foam core, fiberglass mesh reinforcement and a cementitious coating on both sides.
